§ 2-188.1. Investment objectives.

The following investment objectives will be applied in the management of city funds:
(1)

The primary objective of the city's investment activities is the protection of city funds. These investments shall be planned so as not to slow the normal distribution of the subject funds. The investment strategy will provide sufficient liquidity to meet the city's operating, payroll, capital, and statutory disbursement requirements.

(2)

In investing city funds, the city will strive to maximize the return on the portfolio while assuming minimal investment risk.

(3)

The city will seek to control risks and diversify investments regarding specific security types, maturities, and financial institutions.
