§ 16-221. Definitions.

For the purposes of this article, the following terms, phrases, words, and their derivations shall have the meanings given in this section. When not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future, words in the plural number include the singular number, and words in the singular number include the plural number. The word "shall" is always mandatory and not merely directory.

Mobile food service operation shall mean the preparation/cooking, serving and/or sale of food conducted from a portable stand, vehicle or trailer; provided, however, that vehicles solely making deliveries shall not be included in this definition. Each such stand, vehicle or trailer shall be considered a mobile food service operation.

Mobile sales operation shall mean the sales of products, that are conducted from a portable stand, vehicle or trailer; provided, however, that vehicles solely making deliveries and door-to-door solicitors issued a permit by the city pursuant to article II shall not be included in this definition. Each such portable stand, vehicle or trailer shall be considered a mobile sales operation.

Mobile operations shall mean mobile food service operations and mobile sales operations, collectively.
