§ 13-28. Ambient noise.

Latest version.
  • An alleged excess noise-producing source consists of a combination of the alleged excess noise producing source level and the naturally occurring (ambient) noise level that normally exists at the measuring point. Before it can be determined if an alleged excessive noise level exceeds the maximum allowable noise levels established in this article, the naturally occurring (ambient) noise level shall be determined and said noise level shall be subtracted from the total noise level measured when the alleged excessive noise is being produced. The procedure for doing this is detailed in the table for calculating ambient noise below.
